Management and Tourism

The Management and Tourism Diploma with Co-op Program combines an International Business Management Skills diploma with a Global Tourism diploma to create a dual skill focus, enabling graduates to be very flexible in advancing their careers.

• The International Business Management Skills (IBMS) diploma covers the cultural context of global management, creating global teams and networks, cross-cultural negotiation and decision-making, international management ethics, risk assessment and management, trade finance, management accounting, payment methods, and formulating global strategies.

• The Global Tourism diploma (GTD) introduces concepts needed to be a competent member of an international travel planning team. This program provides a background on tourism service suppliers and their social, cultural and political impact, as well as practical introductions to event planning, tour guiding, tourism promotion and customer service

Co-op students find work in a business related to their interests once their study term is complete.

How it Works

The Management and Tourism Diploma with Co-op will get you working in Canada. You will gain knowledge and skills that you can apply in your co-op work and then your career.

You can opt to include LCC’s Business Diploma Program (BDP) as part of this Co-op program.  The Business Diploma program will provide you with information about Canadian workplace practices, and support you to create a Canadian-style resume.

Study Term

During your study term, you will complete the required coursework for the IBMS and GTD diplomas. You will also take elective courses to improve your English language skills and competencies.

Work Term

During your work term, you will find a job which uses your new skills. LCC offers free job support services to help co-op students find work.

The number of hours you work will be the same as (not more than) the number of hours in your study term.
