The Leadership Preparation Diploma (LPD) Program with Co-op is designed to introduce concepts and develop skills needed to be a future leader. LPD enables students to develop strong decision-making and organizational skills, to clarify goals and to lead a team. Students are required to do independent activities, graded assignments and/or exams for each course; each student will work on individual as well as group projects. Co-op students can find work in many different areas once their study term is complete.
The Leadership Preparation Diploma with Co-op will get you working in Canada. You will gain knowledge and skills that you can apply in your co-op work and then your career.
You can choose to include LCC’s Business Diploma Program (BDP) as part of this Co-op program. The Business Diploma program will provide you with information about Canadian workplace practices, and support you to create a Canadian-style resume.
During your study term, you will complete the required coursework for the Leadership Preparation Diploma. You will also take elective courses to improve your English language skills and competencies.
During your work term, you will find a job in an area that interests you. LCC offers free job support services to help co-op students find work.
The number of hours you work will be the same as (not more than) the number of hours in your study term.
In this tutorial, you will review the strengths and weaknesses you noticed during your co-op, and formulate your future career plans.
