The Government of Canada announced that new border measures (previously announced on June 9) will come into effect on July 5, 2021. As of this date, persons who are currently authorized to enter the country, including international students (study permit holders), AND are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, will no longer be required to quarantine at a government-designated hotel upon arrival.
Fully vaccinated travellers are those who have had the full course of a COVID-19 vaccine recognized by Health Canada (Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson) 14 days or more prior to their arrival. These travellers will still be required to undergo a COVID-19 test upon arrival, and stay in isolation until the test comes back negative.
