Overview

The Marketing and Management Diploma Program combines a Professional Communication and Marketing diploma with an International Business Management Skills diploma to create a dual skill focus, enabling graduates to be very flexible in advancing their careers.

The Professional Communication and Marketing (PCM) Diploma introduces students to practical workplace communication. Areas of focus include product and customer research, writing
promotional materials, building relationships with customers, using social media at work, and managing relationships with bosses, coworkers and employees.

The International Business Management Skills (IBMS) diploma covers the cultural context of global management, creating global teams and networks, cross-cultural negotiation and decision making, international management ethics, risk assessment and management, trade finance, management accounting, payment methods, and formulating global strategies.

Co-op students can find work in a wide variety of businesses once their study term is complete.

How it Works

The Marketing and Management Diploma with Co-op will get you working in Canada. You will gain knowledge and skills that you can apply in your co-op work term and then your career.

You can choose to include LCC’s Business Diploma Program (BDP) as part of this Co-op program.  The Business Diploma program will provide you with information about Canadian workplace practices, and support you to create a Canadian-style resume.

Study Term

During your study term, you will complete the required coursework for the PCM and IBMS diplomas. You will also take elective courses to improve your English language skills and competencies.

Work Term

Co-op work experience placements depend on many factors including the Co-op students’ language capabilities, availability for the host’s schedule, experience, and willingness to do the specific work offered. LCC provides a placement for every student who successfully completes the coursework, takes advantage of the free support services offered by the Co-op Coordinator, and attends the weekly workshops.

To assist students, the Co-op Coordinator identifies individually relevant hosts from the list and provides counseling, free interview skills workshops and resume writing assistance. Students are not limited to choosing their co-op work experience placement from a partnered host organization already on LCC’s list. If a student prefers a new company, the company will be contacted for further information and, if the company meets LCC standards (eg. showing commitment to enhancing student learning and willingness to respect limits on hours worked), its representative will complete a Co-op Work Experience Agreement for the company to be included on LCC’s list.
