LCC’s Global Tourism Students Host Successful Halloween Event

November 1, 2018

On October 31st 2018,  students in the Global Tourism class organized and hosted LCC’s Student Halloween Party. Attended by more than 100 students, this event brought together the spookiest dressed students and staff for a fun, interactive celebration.

LCC’s Global Tourism students took advantage of their classroom training to help promote and run the event. This was a perfect opportunity for students to utilize the program’s practical skills training which includes, event planning, tour guiding, tourism promotion and customer service.

Below is a picture of the Global Tourism Class after the event.

We decided to ask Beverly, our Global Tourism instructor, a few questions about the event.

Why did you and your students decide to take on hosting this event?
Last week our class studied event planning, which included looking at advertising, marketing and event management. I thought this would be a great opportunity to put their new found skills into practice.

With over 100 students in attendance, why do you think this event was so successful?
Our students felt a real sense of responsibility for the event. I was impressed with their spirit and energy, which really helped the event run smoothly.
