Today, we come together to honour the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.
At LCC, we recognize that we are situated on the traditional and unceded territory of Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. This land has been home to Indigenous peoples since time immemorial, and we are grateful for their continued presence and stewardship.
From powerful storytelling and music to resilient languages and land-based knowledge—Indigenous cultures are vital to Canada’s identity and future. Today is not only a day of celebration, but also a time to reflect on the truths of colonization, and to deepen our commitment to reconciliation and justice.
How you can engage meaningfully:
🪶 Learn about the Indigenous Nations whose land you live on
📚 Participate in local and virtual events celebrating Indigenous cultures
🧡 Support Indigenous-owned businesses and artists
🗣 Reflect on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action
Let us move beyond acknowledgment—and toward action, allyship, and respect.
