Career Co-op Overview
Our Career Co-op Programs will get you working in Canada! Choose subjects related to your interests, and gain valuable skills that you can apply to the workforce. Our co-op programs are a minimum of 48 weeks up to 112 weeks in length.
Study Term
During their study term, students complete the required coursework for their selected career Diploma program(s). In addition, students complete elective coursework which will help them improve their English language skills and competencies.
Work Term
During their work term, students are encouraged to work in a job related to their Diploma program(s). To assist students in their job hunting, LCC offers free job support services to help our co-op students find work.

Are you applying from outside of Canada?
Students who receive their visa(s) must then register with the Study Safe Corridor-TRAVEL SAFE as it offers a safe way to travel and quarantine in Canada.
Students who travel to Canada must comply with LCC’s policies and the Government of Canada’s Quarantine Act.
Co-op
Entrance Requirements
Before registering for a program you will need to provide proof of English Proficiency. This can be done by providing a valid IELTS, TOEFL, CLBPT or CELPIP score or by taking LCC’s free online English assessment.
- Have proven English proficiency of at least a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 5 or higher in at least two skills (no skill lower than 4), OR successful completion of the Business Diploma Program (BDP).
Students with higher CLB levels but no Canadian work experience or resume are also encouraged to take BDP. Students with English levels below CLB 4 must enroll in language courses (not part of this diploma program) and provide evidence of sufficient English levels before beginning the diploma program(s).
By the start of the co-op work component, students must:
-Have successfully completed the co-op study component.
-Have a Canadian Study Permit and Co-op Work Permit
-Have a Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN).
-Have valid medical insurance coverage.
