Course Overview

Improve your listening comprehension, vocabulary, idioms, and expressions through specific listening exercises based on current North American TV programs and popular movies.

  • Instructors use movies and TV programs including comedies, dramas, news, and interviews as class materials
  • Topics are discussed in class, and individual assignments will improve your understanding


  • Have proven English proficiency of at least a Canadian Language Benchmark of 3+ (lower intermediate level).

Before registering for a course students will need to provide proof of English proficiency. This can be done by providing a valid IELTS, TOEFL, CLBPT or CELPIP score or by taking LCC’s English Assessment.

  • Speak more effectively about current events and issues

Course Information

All students must take an English level test before registering. Students must have at least Canadian Language Benchmark 3 to enter.
